VS code -- formatting php-code on ssh-connection

My problem is: If I code a php-file on my local machine and press shift+alt-f the code will be formatted correctly. If I do the same on ssh-connection vs code says"There is no formatter for php-files installed"; I have phpfmt installed. Any ideas?
