html - <img> inside <a> gets blue border

<a href="index.html"><img src="image.png"/></a>

IE8 highlights the image with a blue border. I'm not sure what CSS is relevant here, is it just border? Can I use a single CSS style to turn it off, like:

a img {
  ...
}
