Doumen District, Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province is a well known hometown of overseas Chinese as well as a famous water town.The floating marriage custom in Doumen originated from the Tanka people’s marriage ritual. After hundreds of years of development, it has formed a folk culture -- the floating marriage custom in Doumen. This custom is not only full of regional characteristics, carrying people’s nostalgia, but also reflects the roots of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao culture.

广东省珠海市斗门区是著名的侨乡，也是著名的水乡。斗门水上婚嫁习俗便源于疍家人对歌成亲的礼仪，经过了几百年的沧桑变化和数代人的融合、沉淀，形成了一种民俗文化——斗门水上婚嫁习俗。这种习俗不仅充满着地域特色，承载人们的乡愁，也是“粤港澳大湾区”文化同根同源、文化价值认同感不断增强的体现。
